The Rainbow Academy, an award-winning non-profit (NPO) school of performing arts and business has collaborated with newkings boutique hotel to provide training scholarships to 40 youth from South Africa's most historically disadvantaged communities. Established in June 2010, the academy works with over 400 schools, 35 disadvantaged communities and 5000 youth in the Western and Eastern Cape.
The partnership aims to give the students hope for an improved quality of life and a brighter future. The academy would like to thank The newkings boutique hotel for hosting a special Heritage Day celebration fundraising dinner in September and for their ongoing donations that have brought R50 000 into the organisation.

Students also completed their musical theatre examinations through Trinity London College in November. The academy hosted its cultural exchange workshop with students from Denmark last month where we taught them about our rich culture in indigenous music, dance and celebration.
